  • 3 cups of flour (540 g).
  • 1 cup of oil (200 mL).
  • 3 medium eggs (180 g).
  • ½ teaspoon of salt (2.5 g).
  • 1 cup of powdered chocolate (100 g).
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder (12 g).
  • 2 cups of boiling water (480 mL).

For the chocolate bath

  • 1 ⁄4 ​​cup of butter (50 g).
  • 1⁄4 cup of water (50 mL).
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (10 g).

Cake preparation

  1. Put the oven to preheat to 180 ºC while you prepare the ingredients.
  2. In a bowl, place the dry ingredients. That is, flour, chocolate powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Make a hole in the center and add the oil and eggs. Take the dry ingredients and stir them little by little with a wooden spoon.
  4. As the dough needs more liquid, add boiling water until the mixture has a smooth and homogeneous consistency. Don’t worry if you didn’t use all the water.
  5. In a mold place butter and flour to prevent the cake from sticking. Pour the mixture and place in the oven over moderate heat.
  6. After 45 minutes, poke with a toothpick and check if it comes out clean; if so, the cake will be ready.
  7. Remove the cake from the mold and fill with dulce de leche and add the chocolate bath.

Preparation of the chocolate bath

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Mix them while you dissolve them in a water bath.
  3. Once the mixture is ready, remove from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Gradually cover the cake with the mixture. 

If you like, you can decorate with nuts (in pieces or whole), raspberries or other fruits of the forest, caramel, homemade jam, in short, whatever you like and have on hand.

Lemon chocolate cake

This chocolate cake recipe can be prepared with a base of chocolate cookies (for this you can use filled cookies processed with melted butter) and a filling of a lemon foam, perfect to make a contrast between the bitter and the sweet.

For the lemon foam

  • 1 small lemon (20 g).
  • Zest of a lemon (20 g).
  • 1 sachet of unflavored gelatin (7 g).
  • 1 cup of heavy cream (200 g).
  • ½ can of condensed milk (100 g).

For the chocolate cream

  • 2 cups cream cheese (200 g).
  • 1 sachet of unflavored gelatin (7 g).
  • 2 cups of heavy cream (200 g).
  • 1 cup of powdered chocolate (100 g).
  • ½ can of condensed milk (100 g).

For the base

  • 1 and ½ cups of melted butter (150 g).
  • 2 packages and ½ of chocolate cookies (250 g).

Preparation

  1. Process the chocolate cookies with melted butter and place it in a mold and put it in the refrigerator.
  2. Hydrate the gelatin with the juice of a lemon for a few minutes.
  3. Microwave this juice for 30 seconds and stir well. Mix with the half can of condensed milk.
  4. Place the cream in a bowl and beat until it sets.
  5. Add the lemon juice and condensed milk mixture and the lemon zest. Stir them well.
  6. Pour the lemon curd over the processed cookie base. Then place a layer of chocolate chip cookies on top of this.
  7. To prepare the chocolate cream, mix and beat the ingredients in a bowl. Pour over the cookie layer.
  8. Put the cake in the fridge and let it rest for at least 3 hours.
