The double chin or double chin is a problem that affects many people who, although they are not overweight, would like to eliminate the fat that accumulates in the lower part of the chin.

What is double chin?

The double chin is a thick layer of fat that hangs below the chin ; It can vary in size depending on several aspects: being overweight, sagging tissues, age, etc.

1. Neck movements

The simplest exercises, and those that, at the same time,  will help us to improve possible neck pain, are:

  • Sitting or standing, we turn our eyes and head downwards, lowering our chin, and when we are at the limit, we will purse our lips, maintaining the position for a few seconds. Then, we will stretch the entire neck.
  • Gently turn your head to one side and hold for a moment and then move it to the other.

2. Exercise with a ball

We will place a tennis ball under the chin and hold it by pressing it against the chest. We will be pressing and loosening. Thus, we will be able to strengthen the flaccid area.

3. Chew gum

Chewing gum is a simple exercise that  can help us strengthen our muscles. We can do it daily, mobilizing the area and opening our mouths (if we do not have anyone next to us who could be bothered). Sugar-free gum is recommended, as we would not want to contribute to overweight or dental problems.

4. Watch your diet

Although harmful fats can cause fatty accumulation in the body, we have to trust those that produce benefits: essential oils

If your double chin is a genetic issue (your parents or grandparents have it too), you shouldn’t lose hope. Start these exercises as soon as possible and be consistent.

The double chin is closely related to being overweight. Therefore, in addition to exercises, you must eat a healthy and balanced diet.

You should not do without fats, as they are also essential in our diet, but you should avoid those that are harmful (fried, pastries, sausages) and choose the beneficial ones (cold-pressed oils, avocado, nuts, fish, yolk egg).

You should also avoid sudden changes in weight, as they cause fat accumulation and contribute to increasing the flaccidity of the tissues.

5. Firm up your neck

Sagging is a fundamental issue to combat  to achieve firm skin under the chin. Apart from the exercises, the neck must be hydrated with a moisturizing cream (the same as for the face).

6. Avoid excessive sun rays

Finally, we must avoid another cause of the worsening of the double chin:  the damage caused by continuous and abusive exposure to the sun.

Avoid sun exposure at noon, always use sunscreen and continuously refresh yourself with water. You can also have a perfect but healthier tan.
